For water proofing of Concrete admixture and special water proof cements are used. Water proofing of these compounds are established by measuring permeability of standard motor. Specimen with or without such water proofing compounds. Permeability apparatus is used to determine permeability to water of motor cement specimens with or without water proofing compound.
Specifications: The mortar permeability apparatus comprises the three brass/gun metal cell mounted on stands and pressure chamber with a pressure regulator. The cell can accommodate 100 mm dia X 50 mm dia high specimen. Each cell assembly consists of one base plate. The base plate has one outlet for water and is recessed to hold the specimen in place with a ring washer in between. The top plate has an inlet for water and a suitable connector for an application of pressurized water in the cell. The mould and collar are clamped between the base plate and the top plate with the help of four tension rods & nuts. The cells are mounted on a stand.
The pressure chamber is fitted with pressure regulator which helps in regulating the pressure from 0-7kg per sq-cm. The regulator has two pressure gauges one for indicating the pressure in the chamber 90-10.5kg/sq.cm) and for indicating the testing pressure(0-7kg/sq.cm)The pressure chamber is connected to cells with pressure hoses and with couplings. This pressure chamber is fitted with help of a foot pump and rubber hose which are supplied with the instruments.

Proving Rings are used for load measurements and are used in the outfits of a number of Soil/Cement & Bitumen Testing Equipments like Direct shear Test Apparatus, Triaxial Shear Test Apparatus, C.B.R. Test, Uncontained Test, and Marshal Test etc.
Proving rings can be designed to measure either compression or tension forces. Some are designed to measure both. The basic operation of the proving ring in tension is the same as in compression. However, tension rings are provided with threaded bosses and supplied with pulling rods which are screwed onto the bosses.
The dial gauge readings thus obtained versus load applied enable the operator to find out unknown load, just by nothing the dial gauge reading for the unknown load. The proving rings have high elasticity and on removing load the regain their original shape provided they are loaded in their elastic limit
A dial gauge and plunger anvil are mounted on brackets clamped ton the ring body .The dial gauge is held perfectly rigid without the remotest chance of shifting due to in advent shocks or pressure exerted on it. The dial gauge plunger rests on an adjustable anvil.
Proving Rings range with 500KN capacity provided with ½ inch BSF female threads loading bosses and a loading ball nipple and steel ball are supplied with each ring. Rings of capacity are not thus threaded.
Each ring are individually calibrated and supplied with works calibration chart and a carrying case.
Calibration charts from Standard Laboratories for the Proving Rings ordered are also available at extra cost. All Proving Rings are Integral Type. Integral type Compressive Proving Rings of different capacities from 50 to 500KN are available.

It is used for the determination of soundness by expansion method of ordinary and rapid hardening Portland cement, low heat Portland cement and Limes.

It is used to measure the drying shrinkage of concrete autoclave expansion of Portland cement and potential expensive reactivity of cement aggregate combinations in mortar bars during storage on self drying.
Specifications: The instrument consists of AA channeled base over which two verticals pillars are fixed. An adjustable cross plate is at the top. A dial gauge reading to .002mm X 12mm can be fixed to the top cross plate. The plunger end of the dial gauge can be located upon a 6.5 mm dia ball or the other reference point cemented in the specimen. On the base is a minilab recessed seating in which can be placed a second ball or reference point on the specimen.Complete with stainless steel standardization bar with insulated grip and with 6.5 mm dia balls mounted in the ends.
